When you create an account, DatIQ asks which of eight roles fits your work:
| Role | What DatIQ puts first for you |
|---|---|
| Sales, SDR & BDR | Account briefs, published contacts, pushing results to your CRM |
| RevOps & Growth Operations | Account lists, ICP scoring, routing rules |
| Product Manager & Competitive Intelligence | Competitor watchlists and pricing trackers |
| Product Marketing Manager | Battlecards, customer proof, AI visibility briefs |
| SEO, Content, AEO & GEO | Discoverability audits and content briefs |
| Brand, Growth & CRO | Business truth, share of voice, trust & proof |
| Founder, VC & Market Research | Diligence briefs and market landscapes |
| Agency, Enterprise & Consultant | Client teardowns, audits, reports in your brand |
Your role decides the examples, the Home tiles and the templates you see first. It never limits what you can use — every feature is available whichever role you pick.
When you are asked. If you sign up from the home page, pricing or a use-case page, you go straight to role selection (a use-case page suggests its role — you still confirm it). If you sign in partway through something — reviewing an extraction, running a Discover audit, accepting an invite — you go straight back to it, and a small Personalise DatIQ card offers the choice instead. Picking a role from that card brings you back to the same page. Skip for now and Not now are always there; you are never blocked.
To change it, open your account menu and choose Switch persona. Your current role stays selected and nothing changes until you confirm a new one — Keep returns you to where you were. Your saved extractions, audits, lists and settings are untouched either way. If you picked Market Research before, you are now under Founder, VC & Market Research; nothing else changes.
Engagement — outreach to the accounts you have researched — is in private beta. To ask for access,
